3/29/2015 0 Comments PuertoristaOnboard! In less than a minute, we will be going to ride on a boat going to Puerto Galera. This is the Ati Batangas Port where we are going to have our transportation. The passenger's fee for us is only 24 PHP. Because we are a student. March 11, 2015, at exactly 09:00 am, we will experience to travel by just a boat! I’m sure it was very exciting since I have the experience to ride on it even before when I was a kid. Upon arriving, we see all the islands that scattered all over the sea. & in the middle of the ocean, it was very beautiful view. The deep blue sea, the mountains that are blocked by the clouds. Far from the city where I used to live. We’re finally here in Puerto Nirvana Resort! We’re we are going to have our first activity: Snorkeling. :) We just fix our things & ourselves quickly so we can go to our next destination, the Haligi Beach. Get our lunch and be prepared to explore under the sea. Welcome to Puerto Nirvana Resort! The Haligi Beach This is my very first time to try this kind of equipment & it was very hard to use this at first. You need to adjust & have a lot of more patience to learn. So I did my best to learn because I really want to see the beautiful species lying under the sea. & of course, it is “once in a lifetime opportunity” that we have on our tour. So why will I waste my time thinking that “I cannot do it?”. And most importantly, not to enjoy this activity? Going to the place where many corals are, Manong (bangkero & our tour guide) instructed us what are the dos & donts. I was nervous back then because he said we will just hold on a rope tie on the boat until we float. I’m so afraid. Really afraid of the sea urchins (that kind of species really creepy!) that might get us wounded. It has many shapes, small, big. It was like a needle that is so sharp. But later on, as we see all the kinds of coral reefs & fishes, we are finally relieved & didn’t bother anymore that kind of feeling. My eyes are so relaxing by this view. How peacefully & calmly this creation of god. It’s just sad to know, that some of the corals are already dead, & I just figured out that we haven’t seen some many kinds of fishes as we explore. Our second day: Team Building (The conflict game) I called it our game “conflict” because all of the game we played is never that easy & you can’t figure it out quickly. Our tour guide, sir Ferdie, sir Edwin & Kuya Aaron the Sardonyx Team gave us a difficult but fun to play games. To enhance ourselves, to cooperate, & have a leadership on a team. The game is begun by ‘’getting to know each other” & get a unique team name & a cheering. This activity helps me to focus, to be a wiser & to express more of myself. I didn’t even realize that I can do it by myself. I am also the one who name our team: PUERTORISTA (see how inspired me by Puerto Galera. :D) I think it would very helpful to me for my future career someday. This kind of team building was so awesome. I am so thankful to our tour guides from all the things that I’ve learned from this game. Third activity: Going to Tamaraw falls In here, we’ve had to got time out & take a time to relax, & get some pictures from the falls. Last activity: Hunting souvenir items at White Beach. Unluckily, I didn’t get pictures from the white beach because I was so busy that time to look for something to buy. I didn’t also get a chance to see the full view of the beach. (Aw!) Did I just almost miss it? I guess so. hu-hu. That was so sad for me. Anyway, I still have some items to bring it home for me & for my family. An event in Puerto Nirvana Resort We get a chance to have a simple party & small talks between the owners of the resort, Mr. Robert Roxas, & of cours, the team of Sardonyx. Mr. Roxas shared some knowledge & views about Puerto Galera. Some of us ask a few questions regarding from that place. From this moment, I’ve realized that there are some places that still not discover & recognized by the people. We just have to explore more, appreciate the value of historical places, sites, & their culture. Like in Bulabod Beach. There is a part of me that left from that place. & I think I have to go back there again someday & established my own resort & build my own businesses. Being a tourism student in University of Caloocan City I really had fun going from this place, earned knowledge, built a new relationships from other people, & had a best experience that I will never ever forget.

3/18/2015 0 Comments Lady in redBeauty isn't having a pretty face. This lovely evening makes me wonder do I look beautiful tonight? While wearing this elegant gown, walking in the aisle & people looking at you, I am just so lucky to have the opportunity to be part of this event. An 8th Annual DTHIM Convention Grand Ball Night. To witness this event, hear all the talks of speakers, I can now proudly share my experiences to everyone. With all the beautiful & handsome people who attend that night. & to all our faculties and our beloved head, it made me feel like I’m one of those stars on the Grammy awards night. Ha-ha! (Just kidding.) But before that, let’s begin at the top where all it was begun. This is our 2nd experience to attend a convention. We are so rush that time because we’ve been for a tour for almost 3 days. We are really tired & one day is not enough for a rest. We have to prepare for a convention. Although I had my gown, I don’t have yet a mask to wear since it was a masquerade ball. And we have to wear a beautiful, unique & most elegant mask except for the stunning gown & suit. The one who are the most beautiful will win a prize. So that day, we rush things. Even my make up couldn’t ever more great. Luckily, we were still able to attend the convention & not too late. Finally, we’ve just arrived at 12:50 in the afternoon at InterContinental Hotel. It is located in Ayala Avenue, Makati City near in Dusit Thani Hotel & at the side of Glorietta 4. The theme was: “Creating a culture of leadership & excellence towards efficient tourism governance.” It was focuses on leadership skills, on how to be a good leader & to learn more about in tourism industry. The speaker share some advises & topics in leadership like, “Lead originates from the Anglo Saxon word laed meaning a journey, a road, a way. Thus, leadership involves taking people from one position to another; hence, it is in periods of great change when really effective leadership is most needed.” It taught me so many things like of course, they say that "to be a good leader, you must be a good follower." & what actions that I need to have, what knowledge I supposed to add for being part of this industry. I must take the initiative to be learned. & what most importantly, I always have this in mind, “go where you grow” continue to learn new things, accept failures, commit mistakes & enjoy everything that I’ve experience each day. Feeling like a celebrity with my classmates, hrm student, & our beloved proffesors. with my beautiful friends. I'm just so amazed how they turned into an elegant woman. funny thing is, we 're not used to be like this before. " I truly, truly believe that beauty is something that comes from within." - emma watson being who you are is the best way to make you shine in every corner in the crowd. -jeng with this handsome guy. 3/2/2015 0 Comments DTHIM FAIR 2015This is gonna be the best day of our lives. This is not just an ordinary day for us. But an event we must enjoy & be the most competitive one. DTHIM fair celebrate every year to all the tourism, hrm & hrs students in north and south campus. It was an event that gives us experiences and shares our talents & knowledge in every competition. Like “Palarong Pinoy” last year, I’ve joined that game where I was the team in orange. Their games that I played are sack racing, longest line, & batuhan bola. It was fun to be with other students, because in these activities, you’ve gained a lot of more confidence, you know how to trust someone, creating a team building & have good time with others. some memoris last year... Mark your calendar...so here we are!!! Our first day in Congressional campus. We've finally were here and see their school. just waiting to start the event. As always,we were so early bird. Other activities including quiz bee, tour-guiding, etc., then this year, I am the one who represents the orange team again. On the first day, February 23, 2015 they start the program of dancing Sumba. At first, it was exciting because of the steps they teach us. But later on, it was become boring & tiring (plus the fact that I’m not so good in dancing). Then after that, the game was all just started. The oca team! When we got so hungry, we’ve just find place to eat food. This is the chicken skin where I buy. It was just 5.00 php. You will just dip it from the soy sauce. It was crispy & yummy. Then as we get strolling, we just passed by this mini store where they sell tasty & unfamiliar food. & guess what? The owner of this on one was American. We’ve just got a chance to interview with him & taste their specialty: Corn dog & choco dip fry oreo. He said that in their country, it was very popular. I already know that before he even tells it because even in the movies of American or in TV show, it was always featured & base on the looks of it, it was not just a typical food you can see here in Philippines. We really had a great time talking to him & get along with them (her wife) as we left to their place. 2nd day: This is the moment. Before the start of program, we are already fixing & setting our things in diorama. We need to have lots of patience and time on it ‘cause we don’t want to get run out of time preparing for that in contest. So as the program starts, we are relieved that we already finalize it, our diorama & cuisine. Our group, who was one of the first that introduce diorama: The Camiguin Island. We are so excited & nervous at the same time. All of us are supporting & helping each other to present it in the best way. some contestants here are reviewing & studying before the quiz bee starts. Then before they announce all of the winners… we’ve joined in boodle fight were all of organizers prepare it. This is the 2nd time around that I’ve experience eating with my own bare hands, with lots of people in a banana leaf. Such a great experience! Then the program continued until they announce the winner of all activities. My classmate, rhandie won a first place in quiz bee contest. While mau & camille won in tour guiding. After 100 years of waiting…ha-ha! (Just joking!) They announce the winner in diorama….. And… voila! We just won again!!! Best diorama. Title holder. Back to back. Defending champion. We were so very happy that day. Fulfilled. It was all worth it! It’s on our history. I’m just so lucky that I’ve become part of this batch, on this school year that I will never ever forget in my college days. Adios amigos! |
